Took a while to decide on a plan for today, had originally wanted to run my 'Spine' route, Keswick to Ambleside (to the West of Thirlmere) but due to weather, 17 miles on the road yesterday and that.......blister, opted for a shorter Kentmere Horseshoe with Russ.
Set off from the church at 1.15pm, weather not great, rain and low cloud but forecast to improve. Steady run up the pass and then cut-off on the race route to the first summit, Yoke. The weather did improve and I was frustrated at having decided to leave my camera behind.....lesson learnt.
The next few summits came and went quickly and we were soon heading to High Street, had not been here since January and then it looked very white ! Down to Nan Bield and the last main climb to Harter Fell. We continued our plan to go to all of the summits so visited Kentmere Pike and Shipman Knotts on the way down.
Back at the church in 2hrs 45mins, a steady run, just what I needed...cheers Russ.
