Anniversary Waltz Race Route - Sunday 26th November 2017

A late decision, I head to Keswick, Stair to be precise, and run the AW race route, one of my favourites. But it's a tough day to be on the fells: cold, windy, clag plus mud, snow and ice - so a bit of everything; great to be out, feel alive :-) 

Loughrigg - Saturday 25th November 2017

The day doesn't go to plan, but KA and I head over to Ambleside for a steady run over Loughrigg and back via Lilly Tarn.

Turbo - Tuesday 21st November 2017

A 30 min session on turbo: 10 min warm-up, 10 X 45 seconds steady, 15 flat-out, then 10 min warm down. A means to an end :-/

Bike - Sunday 19th November 2017

A chilly day to be out on the road bike; a loop from home: Brigsteer, Levens, Brigsteer, Underbarrow, Crook, Plumgarths, home.

Glentress 21km Trail Race - Saturday 18th November 2017

I race in the half marathon, a spectacular route up through Glentress forest and back down on the Black mountain bike run. Glorious weather, good company and well organised.....a happy day :-)

Edinburgh - Friday 17th November 2017

Heading North for work and then to Peebles / Glentress for tomorrow's race.

River / river run - Thursday 16th November 2017

I manage a short run out along the river and back along the otherside......muddy !

Catch-up time Saturday 14th October to Wednesday 15th November 2017

So I've got a bit behind with the Blog and catching-up is never easy, so here goes:

14th Oct: Head down to Llanberis for the FRA Relays and recce Leg with KA & Jacob.

15th Oct: FRA Relays, a frustrating day, I don't run well but Peter and I stick by the rules ! But, overall, a good Team effort.

16th Oct: Head for a swim at lunchtime.

17th Oct: A run at lunchtime and Pilates in the evening.

18th Oct: A run after work, with a difference, through the City and along Regents Canal, about 8km.

19th Oct: From London to Cambridge, back to London and then home, all work and no play.

20th Oct: Circuits at lunchtime.

21st Oct: Out early on bike, from home to Brigsteer, Levens, Underbarrow, Crook, Staveley, Burneside and home; 37.2km and then head North in camper to Stirling.

22nd Oct: Run of the Mill Hill Race, from Alva. A great race over some of the Ochills, with a steep up and steep down to finish; then to the SHR prize giving.

23rd Oct: Swim at lunch and the yoga in the evening.

24th Oct: A run with Russ, the Reston Scar race route, a good run.

25th Oct: All work and no play.

26th Oct: Circuits and Pilates, hard work !

27th Oct: Lunch run from Sizergh Castle.

28th Oct: A wet and windy run around Fairfield Horseshoe.

29th Oct: A sunny and beautiful day for a run around Derwent Water with KA, and the my favourite lunch in Keswick (chicken and tarragon pie).

30th Oct: An evening swim.

31st Oct: Three Rivers mountain bike route from Staveley, in the dark - that's a new experience, and a very exciting one.

1st Nov: It's my Birthday; run with KA, from Rydal, Nab Scar, Alcocks Tarn, Grasmere, Silver Howe, Loughrigg Terrace, Rydal; followed by lunch at Chester's. Then 'urban orienteering' in Kendal in the evening, ran with a very fast 17 year old, now that was hard work !

2nd Nov: Circuits and Pilates; hard work but I am a year older.

3rd Nov: A run after work and from work, usual loop along river to Natland and back along the canal.

4th Nov: A late afternoon ride to Sadgill and back; 33.9km.

5th Nov: A run with KA; from Skelwith, Lilly Tarn, Loughrigg, Red Bank, Elterater, Skelwith.

6th Nov: Circuits and a swim.

7th Nov: A short run after work from Natland.

8th Nov: Training, long reps on the Castle.

9th Nov: Pilates.

10th Nov: Glasgow, all work and no play.

11th Nov: Tinto Hill Race; KA and I head to Scotland; a new race for us both, and one which we both enjoy.

12th Nov: A very, very early start and drive to Seathwaite; then a leisurely start, run to stockley Bridge, Styhead and the Great Gable for the Remembrance Service; back the same way.

13th Nov: An evening swim.

14th Nov: Pilates.

15th Nov: Circuits and Training, a fartlek session on the canal path.
