The forecast is rubbish for today but actually it does not turn out quite so bad.
I head out early on the bike to Staveley, via Sedgwick, Sizergh, Levens, Brigsteer, Underbarrow and Crook. I stay dry and stop at More for a bacon roll and coffee.
Head back along the top road, behind Bowston and Burneside to cross the A6 at Skelsmergh. Then Mealbank, Paddy Lane and across the Helm before dropping down to Natland - 24 mile route.
The return section is wet and cold, a hot shower is very welcome.
