Levens Park & Scout Scar Run - Sunday 17th March 2013

A friend from work is on hols, staying at the caravan site in Sedgwick; Lee is in training for the London Marathon and suggested a run out. It's his intention to cover 18 miles but the fresh snow and my undulating, off road route changes his plans !

We head over to the canal path and follow this to Levens Bridge; back along the river and then cut up to Sizergh; then a steady climb up onto the Scar. Having spent the first hour running in slush and mud we are now in deeper fresh snow, but also in the mist.

A good run over the Scar and we then head down to Helsington and the river. We follow this along to Hawes Bridge and then a very muddy path on the West side of the river; this brings directly back to the caravan site.

Just 12 miles but given the conditions it must be equivalent to 18 ! Head straight to the showers, bliss and then Jackie makes us coffee and bacon sandwiches, bliss again :-)
