A busy day and I can spare just an hour to get out on my bike. It is a bitterly cold day and the odd flurry of snow adds to the prolonged wintry spell.
My long driveway is uphill but then an easy roll down Windermere Road and on to Burneside Road. To Burneside and then head towards Longsleddale; cut left on a small lane towards Staveley and below Potter Tarn and Potter Fell. The bright sun and flurries of snow make it difficult to see, I hit a pot hole and hit it hard ! Results in an instant flat rear tyre :-(
Fingers go numb changing the tube and I then decide to head straight home for a hot shower; at least my driveway is downhill on the way back.
