Unexpectedly and at short notice, I head over to Brathay for a mountain bike ride around Grisedale Forest. It's a glorious evening and we take in a big loop before dropping back down to the river. It's surprisingly dark by 8:30 and cool too.
I just make it to the chip shop for last orders - a good evening.
