Another outing with Bryn; the weather is better......dry, a clear night and plenty of fresh snow on the fells. We aim for the Fairfield Horseshoe, but soon after Nab Scar realise that the knee / thigh deep fresh snow is making the going very hard and tiring, so I quickly prepare a B plan.
We drop down to Alcocks Tarn, with stunning views of the twinkling lights of Grasmere and the snow covered fells, White Moss, Loughrigg Terrace, Loughrigg and back to Rydal; it works well and is enough of an adventure from Bryn who is still suffering from a serious bug !
