Tomintoul (and back) - Thursday 3rd June 2021

A big day out on the bike, three big climbs each way and a total of 65 miles, to Tomintoul and back. What a great day, the best roads I’ve ever cycled in the UK. And then, as a treat, dinner in the Fife Arms. 

Ben Avon - Wednesday 2nd June 2021

I head out of village on mountain bike to Slugain ruin, and then on foot to Beinn A’Bhuird, a huge mountain mass. Then down to The Sneck and up to the granite tors of Ben Avon, a remote place to be. A great path back dow on the glen to Slugain and a much quicker ride out. 

The Cairnwell Ride - Tuesday 1st June 2021

An early start and drive to Braemar, the weather is good but a strong breeze from the south. I ride from the village to Glenshee ski area and then to Spittal of Glenshee, fortunately wind assisted on the return, and a tea & cake stop at the summit. 

BROGA & Potter Tarn Walk - Monday 31st May 2021

Another hot day, early BROGA on the patio and then a walk from Staveley to Potter Tarn. 

Mallerstang and Nine Standards Half Yomp Route - Sunday 30th May 2021

A hot day, we head to Kirkby Stephen and walk the half yomp route; so quiet given its the bank holiday weekend and the sun is blazing. A cracking walk, well done to Dan, good effort for an old’ish fella. And the to Fat Lamb for a pint and chips. 

Short ride & Walk - Saturday 29th May 2021

Tired this morning, so a short ride via the bike shop and then Wilfs at Staveley, breakfast required; home via Crook, Underbarrow and Brigsteer. 

Then an afternoon walk on Scar. 

Ali’s BG Leg 1 - Friday 28th May 2021

Supported Ali on her BG, leg 1, 7pm start. A warm and muggy evening, all went to plan and arrives at Threlkeld about 10mins up on schedule. Good to be back out on the Round again.
