Circuits and Pilates - Tuesday 25th February 2020
One tough and one very tough, I’ll let you decide :-/
Swim and Run - Sunday 23rd February 2020
An early swim and then a late afternoon road run from Natland.
Glentress 10k - Saturday 22nd February 2020
A cold and snowy day, with sunshine in between. KA and I in the 10k trail race, left it too late to get in the half marathon ! We take it steady, but have a good run, KA 1st in category :-)
Swim and Yoga - Friday 21st February 2020
An early swim and then office yoga. Heading to Scotland later, weather looks awful.
Run - Thursday 20th February 2020
A 5 mile road run from the office, hail and sunshine along the way.
Swim and Training - Wednesday 19th February 2020
An early swim and then training in the evening; this week a social run from Staveley, but a wild and wet night. Well wrapped up and in my own little world, toward Brunt Knott and back over Potter Fell, the pint afterwards was good.
Run and Pilates - Tuesday 18th February 2020
Have a run from Natland after work, about 5 miles and then a quick turnaround before Pilates class; both good.
Monday, 17 February 2020
BROGA & Circuits - Monday 17th February 2020
Not a good combo have these two on the same day, and legs tired from the weekend too. But enjoyed and didn’t feel the need to go to training this evening.
Swim & Run - Sunday 16th February 2020
Early swim and then 5 miles on the road with KA in the afternoon, a lot quieter weather today.
Carnethy 5 - Saturday 15th February 2020
I always look forward to this early season classic, and it can often be a tough day, this year storm Dennis made sure if that. CB and I head up to Penicuik, just outside Edinburgh, it’s a wet drive but not too bad. The start field is wild at the best of times but we shelter in the marquee until the last minute. It’s a mad dash at the start, like a scene from a war film great fun.
Once heading up the hill the full force of the wind hit, character building stuff. Sort of loved it really, but hard work, although more sheltered when we dropped down the back. I run reasonably wells felt fairly strong and got stuck in to the last climb. By no means a quick time, I can blame the wind, but not disappointed with my run.
A long day out and an enjoyable pint with CB when back in town.
Howgills - Wednesday 12th February 2020
KA and I head over to Sedbergh for a training session around and then up Winder; one of the few clear and less windy evenings.
Circuits - Tuesday 11th February 2020
Not quite the usual Tuesday, work gets in the way and puts a stop to Pilates ! But circuits was hard.
Swim & Run - Sunday 9th February 2020
An early swim and then when the weathers clears I head to golf course for the usual 1-6-1 loops.
Claife Heights Run - Saturday 8th February 2020
More bad weather forecast, so KA and I head to Wray Castle for another run around Claife Heights, this time taking in the viewing station. 12 miles followed by lunch at Chesters (again !)
Run & Spin - 6th February 2020
Run the golf course temp loops with KA, 1 warm-up, 6 hard and then 1 warm-down; a good session. Then spin in the evening.
Circuits & Pilates - Tuesday 4th February 2020
Join the circuits class in the morning, I work as hard but perhaps it’s not as intense as my usual 1-2-1 session. Then Pilates in the evening.
BROGA & Training - Monday 3rd February 2020
The usual Monday routine, hard BROGA and then hard run session in the evening.
Sunday, 2 February 2020
WCOC Beer Trail - Sunday 2nd February 2020
So the organiser, Jamie, kindly keeps the course in place for an extra weekend, this gives me the opportunity that I seem to not had in the last few weeks to give it a go !
Not the brightest of days, actually not surprisingly it’s wet, windy, cold, low cloud and generally miserable, again. But anyway I head over to Loweswater and tackle the long course. The ground is sodden, and my non-waterproof map does its best to disintegrate. But despite that, I get round, definitely not quick, but steady and in the right direction.

But it is a course that keeps on giving, the last control was a welcome relief and still some goodies left, together with the visitor book. Glad I did it, thank you WCOC.
Claife Heights Trail Run - Saturday 1st February 2020
KA and I head over to Wray Castle, another trail run, in more gloomy weather. 11 miles today and the lunch, again, at Chesters.
Road run - Friday 31st January 2020
KA joins me for a 4’ish mile road run from Levens Hall in the rain !
Pilates & Spin - Thursday 30th January 2020
None of it gets any easier, but good to be back to both.
Carnethy Route - Sunday 26th January 2020
Slightly better weather, head over to Sedbergh with KA and run the Carnethy training route, flippin hard work !
Loughrigg - Saturday 25th January 2020
Out with KA, not great weather; from Brathay, over Loughrigg, onto Grasmere for coffee, then Coffin route to Rydal and back over Lilly Tarn to Skelwith; 12 miles, then late lunch at Chester's.
Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th January 2020
Back to it with a bump, two days in London, all work and no play.
Thursday 16th - Wednesday 22nd January 2020
A week in the sun, at Villa Vital in Fuerteventura. A very relaxing week of good road cycling, plus morning yoga sessions, a couple of trail runs and healthy food; plus good company.....life is good, well at least for that week !
Cunswick Scar Orienteering - Wednesday 15th January 2020
A mad dash but I make it to LOC’s orienteering event on Cunswick Scar. I opt for the long course and it’s a cool and breezy evening. I do ok, 13th, but the usual near miss with one or two controls, doesn’t everyone have that issue or is it just me ?!
Circuits / Yoga / Pilates - Tuesday 14th January 2020
A busy day; tough circuits at lunch, office yoga and then Pilates in the evening.
